About
I have worked in education throughout my life one way or another, as a teacher and teacher educator, working in educational publishing, and then moving into the academy where I have had a number of roles, leading centres and research. I am now professor emerita at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
The image on this blog's banner is of Table Mountain, one of Cape Town's most recognisable mountains; here it is both sunny and cloudy, summing it up literally and metaphorically.
I have personal links to South Africa, Zimbabwe, France, Poland, New Zealand, and Germany, so in a way am a world citizen, as much as this is possible in this fragmented world.
Throughout my various roles, professionally and academically, there has been a thread focusing on digital and social inequalities.
Formal academic outputs are listed here.
Contact me at [email protected].
I used to be active on Twitter/X and since the sad demise of that valuable academic space, am on https://www.linkedin.com/in/laura-czerniewicz and https://mastodon.social/@czernie
